Standing, orthostatic stress, bipedalism, erect posture... A lot of different ways to talk about a feature that is supposed (see animals) to be peculiar to human species Standing position is a challenge for the cardiovascular system (see physiology and also diseases). But, the mechanisms that permit cardiovascular standing are not so well understood (see bibliography) despite several models that help to study them. For example, who is able to tell me the normal heart rate while standing (see other data)? We present here some cardiovascular variables collected on a single healthy human male volunteer during 5 min of supine rest followed by 5 min of standing (the 5-min standing man). The signals has been collected by means of non-invasive (without needle nor bleeding) devices in respect to the statement for a low cost science
